dress mess.

it was the Weekend of the Dress alright.
i spent about four hours BY MYSELF at the mall hitting up Anne Taylor, LOFT, J.Crew, Boscovs (don't ask), JC Penney, blahblahblah, Macys and FINALLY found something that's acceptable.

i'll be the first to admit that i was a total baby about it.

i was very miserable and grouchy and almost burst into tears in LOFT.  i got all misty eyed when i saw that they had the perfect dress, but only in sizes 0 and 18. come to think of it, if i could cut the bust from the size 0 and sew it onto the waist of the size 18, that would actually be an optimal fit. but i digress...

here is the winner (kinda):

this, but in charcoal

i couldn't find a picture of it online in charcoal and i'm currently suffering from some major dress fatigue, so i'm not about to put it on and take a picture....but i like it and luke likes it and it'll work just fine.

NOW, what shoes??  my non-sneaker shoes consist of sandals and a pair of cowboy boots, so needless to say, i'm in the market for something a little, ugh, classier. black tights? pantyhose? do i need a belt?  what kind of belt? it's obviously so plain that it's Amish approved, so how do i jazz it up? any ideas?

So where did you end up getting it?

1. Since the dress is a neutral, add some color w/ fun pumps, snazzy earrings and bracelet! or a wide belt? Red or purple or even lime green would look great with charcoal, but really any color would... it's a neutral. I saw that the gem tones are totally in right now (deep sapphire, purple, emerald, etc.)

2. I'm also thinking you could definitely pull off the black tights and flats with this one! If you're into that sort of thing... http://images2.chictopia.com/photos/piglet/2075763202/gray-max-dress-black-leggings-black-no1-shoes-shoes_400.jpg

3. A simple option would be to get some tall black boots, like the ones that cover your calves. Like Sandra in the middle here: http://www.chicshuk.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/celebrity_style_sweater_dress1.png

4. If all else fails, get some leg warmers and do this one: http://www.thebudgetbabe.com/uploads/2008/200801/legwarmers-5.jpg

[disclaimer: I don't possess a fashion degree, though you may wonder, I'm sure lol]

GOOD LUCK!!!
