things i know.

here is a list of things i know for sure, now that we're post-Hoosier christmas:

• i should never underestimate the generosity of our families. endless amounts of food, hospitality, PLUS pretty much everything on my christmas list. either i was a VERY good girl this year or santa is losing his recon abilities. 
• the christmas eve talent show was better this year than it's been in a while.
• the drive can be (and was) a non-event.
• even with a mountain of new toys at her disposal, a few stuffed animal friends and used wrapping paper are all the tot needs for a roaring good time.

not even a clear case of ribbon butt can stop her

• cleaning Jimmy after unfortunate puke incidents requires three scouring sponge baths AND a white vinegar rinse. oh the joys.
• A Girl Named Zippy and She Got Up Off the Couch (both by Haven Kimmel) are still two of the most enjoyable books i've ever found to read. ever ever. you just NEED to read them.
• while admittedly unpleasant, stomach viruses are an effective way to lose those pesky holiday pounds.
• after an impressive number of family get-togethers, party fatigue looks pretty much the same on both sadie and lucas

"ohmygoodness, someone make it stop"

we're back and settled and the mountain of clean/unfolded laundry is now more of a gently sloping hill.  the tree is gone, the gifts are put away, and post-holiday winter is upon us.  it's going to be a good one, i feel it.
