virginia is for lovers.

((does the term "lovers"make you squirm a little bit? me too.))

have i mentioned that this weekend lucas and i are going to Virginia? that for the first time since the arrival of the tot, it will be JUST US for longer than a couple hours? that i've been uberexcited about this since he arranged it awhile back?!

it's all true.

we're going to sleep in and eat out and basically bask in our freedom.  and why Virginia? because we can do three fabulous things all in one short trip...
  1. visit with my life's favorite RA, Beth "the bacon buddy" Brown.  as a bonus, i'll get to meet her relatively new boyfriend....can't wait!
  2. attend a Professional Bull Riding (PBR) event. my fourth in 3 years.
  3. indulge the inner nerd with a trip to Thomas Jefferson's Monticello
and while you might be thinking that the PBR is for luke and Monticello is for me, you would be wrong. they're both for me (not that he's not into them too). i LOVE professional bull riding. it's amazingly entertaining. plus, there are honest-to-goodness cowboys, so you can't complain about that. and i've wanted to see Monticello ever since i saw a History Channel show about it (who says TV can't add value!?).  i have a particularly low opinion of Thomas Jefferson, so i'm anxious to see if visiting his home will change that.

sweetlucas planned the whole thing, it was all his idea.  a weekend full of collegeroomates, romance, bullriding, and colonial history....i'm one heckofa lucky girl. :)

"Lovers" definitely makes me squirm, but hey, you're the one taking the sexy history getaway:-)

And who says bull riding isn't sexy? :-)

My husband loves Monticello - it is a beautiful place!! And I love to watch bull riding on TV - never saw it live, though. Sounds like a great time. Have fun!
