being pregnant (and thus extra tired), means that my former "blogging/internet time" is now "drool into pillow" time. sad for me. i thought about just shutting this whole thing down and starting over when the new normal has settled in sometime next Spring, because realistically, i'm probably not going to get a ton of blogging in between now and then anyway.
but then i realized that i really enjoy looking back at the posts about sadietot. she changes to quickly and this blog helps to capture some of that.
so here's my new approach: i will continue blogging, but only about the kids as a sort of "where we are right now" journal. it's really not that different then what i was doing before, but it's a mental shift, because i promised myself this blog wouldn't exclusively be "mommy-blogging"....but i think that's what it'll have to be, at least for a little while.

WHEW! alright. now that i've got that off my chest, here are a few quick tidbits:
- we have officially entered the happy squealing/screeching stage. exhibit a ((and if she seems out of breath, it's because she'd been running back and forth like that for about 10 minutes before i got the camera out)):
- sadie's been in her toddler bed for just over a week now. the transition was no big deal, which was shocking to me. i had been dreading it, thinking it was going to be a huge hassle. she LOVED her crib, but is so tall that she could have climbed out if she'd ever wanted to...and since we are going to need the crib for baby #2 in a few months anyway, it seemed like time. she "helped" luke put it together and took the task very seriously. she seems like such a big girl now. and my favorite thing is that you can hear her play quietly for a while when she wakes up, but when she's ready for you to come get her, she knocks politely on the door. ohhh my.
- she and i have both been sick for the past 10 days. all she wanted to do was cuddle, read books, and watch "elmo". good thing, since that's all that i could muster.
she's in the pantsless construction union. very prestigious.
our big girl, in her big bed.
day six of the virus with no end.
- she's very into her blankies. she's got about four and she likes to have them with her all the time. in fact, when we were going downstairs yesterday morning, she asked to take her blankie and i said "you have your pink one on the couch". she shook her head and said "blankie? yellow?" the yellow is her favorite and she wasn't going to let the pink one slide. since then she's been very specific about asking for her "yellow"....like she's dealing with incompetent help who need to be gently reminded about routine tasks. :)
