lehighism: advertisement sheds.

here in the lehigh valley, you have your regular billboards for advertisements along roadways, but you also have these things....i don't even know what they're called, so let's go with "advertisement sheds". ((excuse the pictures, they were taken while being tailgated by a pickup truck))

when we first moved here, luke and i thought they might be bus stops. but i've never seen a bus at one, and plus there are no benches. if they're solely for advertisement, why not have a two sided billboard? what in the world is going on here?? i've never seen anything like them in Indiana, Ohio, or California (the few places i've lived). would one of my Lehigh Valley friends like to help a sister out and fill me in??

I grew up here & have always seen them, so I never really thought of them as unusual. I just assumed that they are old bus stops that have not been torn down. My mom grew up in A-town, so I'll ask her if she knows anything about them. I'll let you know if I gain any new insights.
